MoGo helps groups plan trips. This page explains what we store, who can see it, and which outside services we use to run the app.
What we store
- Your account: email, name, password (hashed), and optionally a profile photo, Venmo/PayPal handle and phone number.
- What you add to trips: polls and votes, availability, itinerary items, travel plans, expenses and receipts, lists, chat messages, reactions and photos.
- Device push subscriptions, if you turn on notifications.
Who can see it
Trip content is visible only to that trip's members. This is enforced in the database itself, not just in the app. Invite links are long, random and expire; anyone with a current link can join the trip. Before joining (or while waiting, if the host requires approval) they see only the trip's name, host and dates. Your profile is visible to people you share a trip with.
Services we use
- Supabase hosts the database, sign-in, file storage and live updates.
- Vercel hosts the app.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) receives place names and addresses from itinerary items to show them on a map. Open-Meteo receives your destination and trip dates for weather.
- Frankfurter receives currency codes and dates to look up exchange rates.
- An email provider sends password resets and, if you allow them, update digests.
- Your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) delivers notifications you turn on.
- Venmo and PayPal links open those apps; we never see or handle payments.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account any time from your profile. That removes you from every trip and erases your profile, photos, travel plans and chat messages. Expenses you were part of stay, labeled “Former member”, so your friends' balances still add up.
